Lil Boosie Can Freestyle To Impress Supporters
Filed under: Music
When it comes to the art of freestyling, Lil Boosie has established himself as one of the most effective in the rap industry. The reason that many people think he is one of the all time greats has little to do with his wordplay, though. Most people give him a lot of credit for being good at what he does based on the fact that he talks about socially important events. There are a lot of rap artists that can rhyme words like “cat” with “hat” but if the overall sentence or rhyme doesn’t have any social value to the listener, it does not make for a good freestyle.
Some of the topics used in a Lil Boosie freestyle may include: the war in Iraq, hurricane Katrina, people struggling to stay alive in the streets, and social justice issues. Some give Boosie credit for being a revolutionary rap artist because he is not afraid to stir up the imagery associated with these types of events. Another reason that people know Lil Boosie is talented is largely because he never writes down any of his lyrics or recites what he is going to say ahead of time. Most rap artists take the time to write down their thoughts and/or recite them before they actually rhyme them in a freestyle.
With Lil Boosie’s natural mental talent, he is able to come up with rhymes inside of his head. Some people have a brain wired to be good at certain things, and in this case, Lil Boosie’s is geared towards rhyming. There are other rappers like Andre 3000 and Bun B who are also good at coming up with innovative freestyles, but neither are as adept as Boosie at crafting their lyrics. If you have never gotten the chance to hear a freestyle before, then be sure to see if you can find a video of him performing live; there is bound to be a freestyle included in one of his performances.
