Doolin hotels, manors and guest houses have in the past 20 years needed to up their game to remain competitive with the hotel chains that are now so widespread in the Irish hotel sector. The 3 independent hotels picked here are some of the most welcoming in Doolin Ireland with top quality lodgings, friendly service and great sea/rural views.
Starting right in the heart of Doolin village, the Ballyvara Guest House has a warm friendly welcome from their staff and a great range of rooms. As it is a modern build the amenities are of a high standard throughout all the rooms.
Aside from standard single/double rooms there is also the option of luxury suites (with spa bath and king size sleigh beds and even large groups are looked after with the option of quad/family rooms with balconies or the 2 self-catering open plan apartments.
Staying close to Doolin village the first thing you will notice about the 4-star Tir Gan Ean House Hotel is its modern architecture that fuses traditional Irish round-tower design with contemporary comfort. Inside the 12 boutique style guest-rooms are all huge and completely kitted out with air-con, plasma TVs and modern en-suites.
The modern style could have easily jarred against the rural setting of the hotel but it manages to retain a welcoming friendly atmosphere. Lastly the breakfast deserves special mention for the selection of hot/cold choices with everything from scrambled eggs with smoked salmon to the always hearty full Irish breakfast.
Finally, the most traditional hotel listed here is the Aran View Hotel, a country manor style hotel overlooking Doolin village with spectacular views of the Aran Islands. The rooms were recently refurbished with modern creature comforts but the rooms & public areas still maintain a country charm. As does the restaurant and hotel bar which prove popular with tourists and locals for the range of formal and informal menus.

If you’re in the market to sell your timeshare, chances are you don’t have the time or the inclination to deal with it any more. There are several options available for you in this situation. The first thing you want to keep in mind and understand, is that your unused timeshare can actually be a source of income for you.
This type of income can be both regular and consistent. If you sell your timeshare outright, you can fore-go any earnings you could have received by renting it out. But some people just don’t have the time to manage renters, communicate with renters, collect money, or make sure things run smoothly, after all it can add up to be a lot of work until you finally say I’d just prefer to sell my timeshare! If this situation applies to you, you might want to go ahead and sell your timeshare, and receive a significant amount of money for it.
Another option that you have as well, is hiring a management company to manage the timeshare for you. In this way, you can earn regular money on the timeshare, without having to deal with the hassles and stress of managing your own timeshare. Of course maintaining a time share will not be an easy task, so the company you hire will charge you a certain amount of money on a monthly basis. But this amount among money is well worth spending – since it will bring an additional stream of income into your pocket on a regular basis, without your having to do much of anything.
When you purchased your timeshare, you probably thought you would use it all the time. It was probably very easy to get caught up into buying the time share, (this was especially true when they first became popular). Spending the weekend in a vacation spot that was already paid for, with recreation facilities, and fun things to do, probably seemed like a great idea at the time. Yet so many people rarely use their timeshares, and find it they go to waste. Instead of allowing this to happen, why not earn money on your timeshare either by selling it, renting it, or hiring a management company to rent it out for you? Don’t get too discouraged, as the economy improves in the coming months there will be many people looking to buy timeshare properties again.

Today many people are discovering Panama and some people have heard that Boquete Panama, in the Chiriqui province, is one of the Best Places to Retire. It wasn’t very long ago, less than ten years in fact, that Boquete was unheard of and nothing more than a sleepy Panamanian village known locally for it’s flowers and coffee.
American Association of Retired Persons
That was until AARP, the American Association of Retired Persons, published a list in their Modern Maturity Magazine about the Best Places to Retire abroad. Interestingly this little village, Boquete, managed to rank 3rd and of the top 3 it was the only place in the western hemisphere. That created quite a stir. Before long International Living Magazine had also noticed Boquete and put it in top spot as THE Best Place to Retire. Boquete was on the retiree map and would remain top of the pack with International Living for six years straight.
Boquete Tours
Boquete has always had it’s small share of visitors to Panama. Most would venture into the Chiriqui Highlands to hike to the top of Volcan Baru, Panama’s highest peak, or the Los Quetzales Trail which runs from Cerro Punta on one side of the dormant Volcano around the base to Boquete on the other. There were lots of young, athletic back-packers up for the adventure and also older adventure travellers seeking out a different kind of thrill – the site of rare birds including the illusive Quetzal. Boquete Tours could be found for traversing the Volcano, Bird Watching on the Los Quetzales Trail, Coffee Farm Tours and even Whitewater Rafting Tours. Today all of these Boquete Tours are more popular than ever thanks to the influx of Baby-Boomers who come to Boquete on a different kind of tour – a Panama Real Estate Investment Tour. More recently a Zip-Line Tour has been added to the list of Things to Do in Boquete. Combine all of these activities with ongoing interest and the Boquete Hotels are busy.
Retire in Boquete
Today the swell of visitors to Boquete has subsided somewhat. Those Baby-Boomers looking for the Best Place to Retire are stuck at home with real estate they can’t sell in order to escape to Panama. But ask those who managed to get out when the going was good and most will tell you they still believe Boquete is the Best Place to Retire to.
